Dr. Claudette H. Reichel is a Professor and Extension Housing Specialist with Louisiana State University AgCenter. She spearheaded LaHouse Resource Center with broad participation from private and public partners to create a permanent demonstration house and landscape showcase of solutions on the LSU campus as the hub of a regional educational outreach program and information resource. The vision of LaHouse is to “shape our future” with resource-efficient, durable, healthy, convenient and practical homes and development

Since 1981, Dr. Reichel has developed numerous educational materials, programs and outreach delivery systems relating to housing and building science, including energy efficiency, indoor air quality and mold, hazard resistance, moisture control, home buyer education, and others. She has authored more than 100 Extension publications, including the Building Your High Performance Home – Gulf Region Homeowners Guide book. Dr. Reichel has received 10 national and state level awards for program excellence, was a featured speaker at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. and has presented at numerous national and regional events.
